YEAR 9 Wellbeing Resources June 2021

Mental health includes our own emotional, psychological and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others and make choices.

Our mental health can fluctuate from being really positive one day, to being quite negative the next day. In order to cope with day-to-day life and the challenges we face, we need to develop coping strategies so that our mental health does not suffer.

These resources promote positive mental health and will help you to think more consciously about your own thoughts, feelings and actions on a regular basis. Have a browse through them and choose one that you’d like to try out for a few weeks. Paper copies of the resources will be available in school – just ask Mrs Anderson.

Something's Not Right

A new campaign, called ‘Something’s Not Right’ was launched on Tuesday 17th November, to help secondary school children in England who suffered a range of harms, such as sexual and physical abuse, during lockdown. The campaign aims to build awareness of the support services available to victims and encourage disclosure of abuse to a trusted adult. The campaign has been developed in close collaboration with the NSPCC, Barnardo’s, The Children’s Society, Internet Watch Foundation and Marie Collins Foundation.
